You're Going the Wrong Way!

So, I got on the scale this morning and immediately thought of this scene from Planes, Trains and Automobiles.  The scale is clearly going the wrong way....
The bottom line is, I need to drop about 30 pounds to get to a weight that is more conducive to trying to run for 26.2 miles.  So, starting tomorrow, I am opening up my food diary on My Fitness Pal.  If you're trying to lose weight, myfitnesspal.com is a free site you can use to track your diet and exercise and chat with others trying to do the same.  The message boards are full of good advice (but also a lot of chit chat that you sometimes have to weed through) and you can get a lot of support there.  If you are on it or join, you can "friend" me - eaglesfanintn is my user name.
I have just over 24 weeks until the St. Jude marathon.  No matter what races I run before that, I really want to make that the race that I PR.  Currently, my best marathon time is 4:31:39, which was my first.  My next two marathons have taken longer (again, going the wrong way).  I'd really like to finish the St. Jude somewhere around 4 hours, but, again, I can't do that without losing some tonnage.
I feel that if you take 30 pounds off of me right now, I would be in the best shape of my life.  Working with a trainer has made my muscles stronger and I really feel that the extra weight is the only thing holding me back
So, it's time to lose the weight, be the runner that I know I can be and destroy my best marathon time!  Thanks for reading and following me on this journey!
